So, I have a tradition where I post Hanson's White Christmas on this day every year. It all started back in 2015 when I woke up to a winter wonderland and I was so happy and everything looked so magical and beautiful! And then, for the next two years, I had no snow. BUT THIS YEAR: ...... I STILLhave NO SNOW!! :( I'm so sad!! We had one big snow storm clear back at the beginning of the month on the 2nd, and there are still patches of snow here and there from it, but other than that, NOTHING! I mean, a couple of days ago it did snow enough during the night to cover the grass and rooftops but it melted by the afternoon. Today it was so nice and sunny out I went on TWO walks! I'm grateful that the weather is nice because I do have family members who are traveling but I mean .... come on!! It's DECEMBER!!The only time of the year that I actually WANT SNOW!!! I just pray we get snow for Christmas! I'm not only dreaming of a white Christmas, I'm dreaming of snow every day! I want to wake up to a winter wonderland ofSNOW!!Please let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!!
For the past two years now I have posted this song on this day. Two years ago, it made sense since I was doing my first "MERRY HANSON CHRISTMAS!" posts and it happened to have snowed a bunch that day! Last year, no snow. This year......no snow :( I'm so sad, we haven't had ANY all month long and I really want snow (not to mention, we really need snow!). I hope it snows soon....preferably after all my family members travel home this weekend.....but then I want buckets and buckets of snow! It doesn't feel like Christmas when I look outside :( I want to see the reflection of Christmas lights glistening in the snow! I want to go sledding and have a snowball fight and build a snowman and drink hot chocolate! But I can't do any that without SNOW!!
Hopefully, the magicical harmonies of Hanson can bring me some snow! 'Tis the season of miracles right?
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas Just like the ones I used to know Where the tree tops glisten and children listen To hear sleigh bells in the snow I'm dreaming of a white Christmas With every Christmas card I write May your days be merry and bright And may all you Christmases be white
Here's the classic Hanson rock n' roll Christmas song of the album! It reminds me of Everybody Knows the Claus in it's creativity and fast-paced beat. It's really fun to jam to while baking some holiday goodies (or working those goodies off on the treadmill ;) It's a perfect "Ike song" too, suits him well!
I guess live versions are all we're going to get....
I got my invitation December 25
Split a taxi with an Eskimo to North Pole Drive
Told the driver I don't wanna be late
Can you go a little faster
Drop me off at the gate
I need a totty for my body
'Cause, baby, it's cold outside
Knocked on the door,
"Hello, Mrs. Claus."
Ruby red lips like the Wizard of Oz
Two wooden soldiers they're checking the list
And everybody's dancing to the peppermint twist
Gonna do it right,
This ain't no silent night
Once we get Santa on his sleigh, on his sleigh We play rock'n'roll from Christmas 'til New Years Day One week a year we do it right, do it right We play rock'n'roll from Christmas 'til New Years Night Rock'n'roll Rock'n'roll
Somebody please spike the eggnog bowl
'Cause we need some lubrication for this rock'n'roll
This's so hard, I stepped on an elf
So many Christmas goodies I can't help myself
Saying "Ho, ho, ho!" under the mistletoe And once we get Santa on his sleigh, on his sleigh We play rock'n'roll from Christmas 'til New Years Day One week a year we do it right, do it right We play rock'n'roll from Christmas 'til New Years Night Rock'n'roll Rock'n'roll We play rock'n'roll from Christmas 'til New Years Night, yeah, c'mon
Rudolf's playing reindeer games
Nick is shouting out their names
Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen
Santa's coming down the chimney
Everybody, sing it with me
Once we get Santa on his sleigh, on his sleigh We play rock'n'roll from Christmas 'til New Years Day One week a year we do it right, do it right We play rock'n'roll from Christmas 'til New Years Night Rock'n'roll Rock'n'roll Rock'n'roll Rock'n'roll We play rock'n'roll from Christmas 'til New Years Night
Today is May 4th, which if you are a fan of Star Wars or just a geek in general you will know that today is officially known as "MAY THE 4TH BE WITH YOU!" Get it!? Instead of "May the FORCE be with you" .... I love puns! And I love random days like today to make tasty, themed food to celebrate something fun! Last year I made "Bow-Tie the Fett" pasta salad, "7-Leia" Dip with "Dark side chips", "Yoda Soda" & "Obi-Wan Fruit Ka-bobbies." It was so much fun!! Unfortunately, due to a busy schedule & other engagements I'm not going to be able to celebrate "May the 4th" with food :( I'll have to opt to just wearing my Star Wars shirt. Maybe I can squeeze in making some "Wookie Cookies" since those were something I wanted to make last year but ran out of time!
And the fact that Hanson are HUGE nerds and love Star Wars makes me proud to be a fan! P.S. I can't wait to see them in less than 2 weeks!! AH! THIS IS GETTING REAL PEOPLE!!
They met the legendary creator/director of the original Star Wars George Lucas!
Cool! Never seen this before!
Merry Christmas!
Amazing costumes guys!
Halloween Show! AWESOME!
Love this so much!
MMMBop....STAR WARS STYLE!
This Time Around....STAR WARS EDITION!
MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU TODAY & EVERYDAY BUT ESPECIALLY TODAY ON
It cracks me up that my brother, who is super rude about Hanson all of the time and claims that they aren't that talented or cool or famous and blah blah blah, is jamming out to their Christmas album this year, particularly THIS song! Hahaha. He randomly asked me about it (on Thanksgiving day) and so I showed him the song. He just loves the way Zac sings it with so much energy and passion! Then my brother asks for my CD so he can download it to itunes! My brother is super picky about what music goes on his phone so this was a BIG DEAL people!! Then he tells me the other day "I've been listening to the Hanson Christmas music a lot lately....especially that one song." Hahahaha. I am DYING! This is a MIRACLE!! And I LOVE IT!!! Zac is for sure his favorite and he also likes "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree." He goes, "Only a little kid can sing this song that intensely." lol. The funny thing is, my brother is so much like Zac, they would seriously be the best of friends! Zac is into everything my brother is into....same taste in video games, movies, nerd-movies (like Lord of the Rings and Star Wars), games like Risk, drawing and their both hilarious! AND Hanson are the three oldest of 7 kids.....I am the second oldest of seven kids and my brother is the THIRD oldest of 7 kids which would put him inZAC'Sexact position (I get to be Taylor, haha, yay!). It's too much of a coincidence!
Anyway, a year ago TODAY as I was doing my daily Hanson Christmas song posts, this is the song that I had for today (last year) and I thought it was only fitting to honor such a Hanson classic and give a little shout-out to my brother who is slowly becoming a Hanson fan (not really, but kind of)....or at least a Zac fan!
Hahaha, you have no idea how excited I am to be posting this song today. It's slightly ridiculous but I don't really care. This song is groovy and fun and what better day to listen to it than in the month of Spetember and on the 21st day of September? There isn't a better day. That's what.
ENJOY!
Do you remember the
21st night of September?
Love was changing the minds of pretenders
While chasing the clouds away
Our hearts were ringing
In the key that our souls were singing.
As we danced in the night,
Remember how the stars stole the night away
Ba de ya - say do you remember Ba de ya - dancing in September Ba de ya - never was a cloudy day
Ba duda, ba duda, ba duda, badu Ba duda, badu, ba duda, badu Ba duda, badu, ba duda
My thoughts are with you
Holding hands with your heart to see you
Only blue talk and love,
Remember how we knew love was here to stay
Now December found the love we shared in September.
Only blue talk and love,
Remember the true love we share today
Ba de ya - say do you remember Ba de ya - dancing in September Ba de ya - never was a cloudy day
There was a Ba de ya - say do you remember Ba de ya - dancing in September Ba de ya - golden dreams were shiny days
The bell was ringing, aha
Our souls were singing
Do you remember
Never a cloudy day
There was a Ba de ya - say do you remember Ba de ya - dancing in September Ba de ya - never was a cloudy day
There was a Ba de ya - say do you remember Ba de ya - dancing in September Ba de ya - golden dreams were shiny days
Ba de ya de ya de ya Ba de ya de ya de ya ba de ya de ya de ya De ya
Ba de ya de ya de ya Ba de ya de ya de ya ba de ya de ya de ya
